Danielle volunteers to play taps "live" at the memorial for fallen heroes, like veterans, police officers, firefighters, active servicemen killed in the line of duty, etc. There is a shortage of actual taps players, leaving many heroes with just a canned recording for their memorial. Danielle feels that it is their right to be honored and respected with the traditional service they deserve for their sacrifices.

While Dennis works in the Poughkeepsie school district full time and volunteers countless hours with Pop Warner (over 20 years), Summer Basketball Leagues and elementary leagues with the city, he went a further step for the youth of Poughkeepsie. When the Family Services Teen Resource Activity Center (T.R.A.C.) lost its funding due to budget cuts, Dennis lost the job he had been in for over 11 years. He made the decision to keep the center's doors open as a volunteer. He not only led the program as a volunteer, he also assembled others in the community to volunteer their time for T.R.A.C.

Jennifer ran the Yorker club in the Pine Plains school district for three years. The club did their own fund raising and provided its rural members (6th-9th graders) with trips and tours outside of their community. Jennifer also volunteered at the Pine Plains Lion's club for two years. She was the secretary and volunteered at all of the club's annual events. It was at this time that Jennifer presented the Pine Plains community with a survey asking the types of activities that they would like to see in the community. The survey showed a need for activities for senior citizens. To fill this need, Jennifer started the Pine Plains Gamers. The Gamers met at the Lion's club pavilion bi-monthly from 4pm-10pm. Jennifer provided transportation, games, prepared and served supper and Holiday meals, and cleaned. She invited the local Girl Scouts to serve food and drink and to participate in games with the Gamers. In August of 2009, Jennifer was asked to expand her senior program and to move it to the new community center in Pine Plains, the HoPP. The Gamers group has doubled in size and Jennifer continues to provide transportation, supper, holiday meals, and cleaning services at the community center for this program. In addition, she has organized and runs the Young at Heart group for seniors which meet at the community center every Thursday. This program provides activities such as brain games, movies, and workshops. Jennifer prepares and serves lunch, provides transportation as needed, and cleans. She has organized the Pine Plains' high school students who require community service hours by enlisting them to cook and interact with the seniors in these groups.
She also acts as the president of the board of the HoPP. She has coordinated and run many community events at the center; monthly family movie night, three community cooking contests, a soup fest, free informational seminars and a blood drive. She is the person who completes the paperwork for anyone approved to use the community center. She unlocks and locks the center for all events and has been the one to voluntarily clean the center on a regular basis. She has headed up and run many fund raising events for the HoPP. The community center is also an emergency shelter. In February of this year, Pine Plains experienced a power outage for several days. Jennifer was at the center with the Red Cross. She helped to organize the people who stayed in the shelter. She was the liaison between the Pine Plains Fire Department, who supplied meals to the community center, and the Red Cross. She spent most of her time during the power outage at the center.
